Am I a Believer or bi-polar?

Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," had some pretty harsh things to say about Christians this week. Some people think he's an idiot, yet there's a huge part of the population that watches him, and agrees with him.

Where does this hit you?

"We are a nation that is unenlightened because of religion ... I think that religion stops people from thinking. I think it justifies crazies ... I think religion is a neurological disorder. If you look at it logically, it's something that was drilled into your head when you were a small child."

If you break apart relgion from authentic Christianity, does he have a point? Have you ever stopped to consider the difference between "religion" and "Christianity"? Is there a difference? I have to admit, there were things that were presented to me as a child that were religious, but in no way scriptural.

Ponder it for awhile. Pray through it. While we take offense at his statements, what can we learn from them? How does the world view us, as believers? Heck, does “your world” even KNOW that you’re a believer?
