All I want is a stinkin' cup of coffee!

Yesterday I had a death in my house. My coffee maker, of many years, bit the dust. It just ceased to brew. So, hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to Wal Mart I go. Picked up the newest "low end" Mr. Coffee. Came home, got it all set up and had myself a cup-o-Joe at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Ahhhh ... I love to self-medicate in the afternoon.

This morning, I skipped happily into the kitchen to make me another pot. If you don't love coffee, then you can't understand how your heart skips a beat at a brand new coffeemaker (with a permanent gold filter, my friends - HEAVEN!). So, I get it all ready, push the button and run back to bed (it's my first programmable ... so I FORGOT TO PROGRAM IT!). A few minutes later I realize something has gone horribly wrong? Where is it? The SMELL? Where's that glorious smell?

I cautiously peek around the corner to see the "on" light still "on" ... but nothing is happening.

I've spent the last hour doing every single trouble shooting ANYTHING, but to no avail. So, it's back to Wal Mart today! The land of holiday spirit and kindness (insert tone of sarcasm here).

I think I'll stop off at Starbucks on the way home, just to be safe.

Commence whine...

IWANNASTARBUCKS!!! The closest Starbucks to me is inside a Target, whose parking lot generally doesn't make me want to "just run inside" for a decaf gingerbread latte (oh heaven). The second closest Starbucks is on County Line Road, and if you ask anyone in the Jackson, Mississippi metro area about County Line Road, you'll get a solid eye roll, if not a visible shudder, before they describe it to you.

Okay, end whine.

Oh, Stacey, have I got a hint for you! Go ahead and make yourself pop into Target for a Starbucks run. Buy some of the decaf breakfast blend coffee and a $5 bottle of their gingerbread syrup. Make sure you have whipped cream and cinnamon at home. You can add some warm milk to the coffee if you want (to make it a latte) or just enjoy the flavor from the syrup in your coffee.

Ta-dah!!

OH, and by the way, I drug my butt to Wally World at 9:15 am and traded in the piece of crap Mr. Coffee for a GE (cost me an extra $4). It's brewing as I type! WHOO! HOO!

Oh, and ANOTHER by the way ... I did stop by Sbucks on the way home for my very own gingerbread latte .... leaded. Mmmmmmmm

Dang it if our Walmart or Kroger doesn't have ANY of the new holiday creamers!! I have gone by everyday to check and NO holiday creamers!

BTW...Starbucks has a HEAVEN chocolate drink that makes me feel "rich" . It's called a Chantico. If you haven't had it...OH MY GOSH...go get one! You'll have to go confess a hundred times before the Lord will forgive you of that one! LOL!!

Oh...and I bought a new coffeemaker tha had a craffe that it would fill instead of a regular pot. Dropped it...it shattered inside...so it's back to the old tride and true green Krupps. LOVE that thing!

Speaking of coffee...gotta make some now.

LOVE YA GIRL!

Ive only had Chantico once. It was heaven. And just too much to have on a regular basis. Fear of addiction.

I dont care for the ginger bread... but I will tell you that the peppermint mocha creamer and pumpkin one are both pretty good. I prefer the peppermint. They also have a new raspberry chocolate creamer. I love it.

Ive been SOOOO good lately at just making coffe instead of starbucks at $4.20 a pop. Going without just makes the real thing that much better when I do get one....

heaven....

(I buy the espresso roast starbucks for at home...)

Coffee timers freak me out. I always worry about them flaking out on me and burning something :) Starbucks is much safer.

Coffee. Blech. I have never been able to get into it. Although, a mocha frap is yummy.. That sort of has coffee right? Or mexican coffee with chocolate.. or spiked Irish coffee.. Hmm, I see a pattern here.. my coffee has to have chocolate or alcohol?

I do adore tea though... and hot cocoa with whipped cream is liguid heaven. Hmm mmm

I hope you get a new maker soon and your daily fixes. :o)

Get a french press. You can make as little or as much coffee as you want and there are no electronic gadgets on it to malfunction.

you mentioned walmart and starbucks in the same post - this is normally enough to make me completely shut down. but I hung in to the end of the post. I am a melita manual coffee maker. Boil the water, place the filter in the strainer basket and pur the bubbling stream right down the middle, 5 min to heaven
