First remove any crust from the piercing and the jewelry. This is best accomplished by soaking. Soaking is best accomplished by placing a cup of the solution over the pircing for 5-10 minutes. A saturated cotton ball will aslo work for piercings that are difficult to submerge (nostril, septum, etc.).
Well, after two days of trying to cram cotton balls up my nose, and accidentally rotating my stud ... I'm thinking, "Who SAYS I can't soak my nostril? Don't tell ME it's too difficult!"
So, for five minutes each morning you will find me hunched over my bathroom sink, with my nose submerged in a bowl of sea salt water - breathing slowly through my mouth. It's much easier than the cotton ball alternative (which my piercer raved about, but he also has nostrils the size of Texas).
I just wanted to leave you with that mental image today. And ..... carry on!
