I hate jogging. Go figure.

Time for a confessional.

I have been walking/dancing/excercising for 30 minutes every day for a few months now. Nothing hardcore, but enough to battle the bad cholesterol (BAD cholesterol! BAD! BAD!!) and keep my weight down.

I'm sitting with the fam at Christmas. My sister-in-law has run a few fun run kinda' things this year - 5K's ... 10K's ... that sort of thing. I'm looking at her pictures thinking, "I already walk about a mile and a half every day. If I just do the little Couch to 10K thing, I'll be jogging a 5K in in about six weeks!"

So, I start to add that little bit of training to my regular 30 minutes. That's when I finally faced it head on. I had to admit it to myself, and now I'm admitting it to the rest of the world:

I hate jogging. I hate running. It kills my knees. It makes my thighs itch really badly. I hate it. HATE IT!

But I love walking - even power walking.

So, that's it. I won't be running the 5K in OKC this April. I'll still be walking the Lutheran Church parking lot while my three year old laps me on her training wheels. But I'm moving. Everyday I'm moving. I'm loving my heart. I'm doing good.

And I'm still cool.

I'm with you. I don't run unless I'm being chased.

Hey, want to start a local team with me? Check it out and tell me what you think. :)

It used to make my legs itch also. I thought I was the oddball. I've gotten used to it. I do a lot of inline skating. It's a great alternative, for me, when I don't want to run.
