A Terrific, Happy, Super Good, Very Great Day

Sometimes you have good days. Today was a great day.

First, my son begged for waffles. So, although I was wanting us to get started sooner than the waffles would take, I made them. As the older two waited for me to start popping them out, I asked, "Would you guys like me to read from the book we're doing at bedtime?"

"YEAH!!"

So, I'm cooking waffles, popping them onto plates, sneaking some for myself and reading (yes, with my mouth full occasionally!). It was just super perfect.

Our bookwork was okay. Lah-dee-dah.

The kids take a break around 10:00 am. I told them I was going to head out for a walk. By the time I had come out of my room, they were nowhere to be found. Headed outside to find them sitting on the edge of the road, playing in a spot of torn up pavement. They were creating a little "stick camp" for little "stick people." The older two were even incorporating their younger sister, and not correcting her every single second on proper "stick etiquette."

They picked little green berries from a nearby bush that became apples for said stick people.

It was just super perfect.

We met Dad for lunch downtown. In trying to get out the door, my oldest starts fussing that she forgot to bring a book!!!! UGH. "HURRY UP!"

When we get to lunch, and she and her brother are eating while reading, I noticed the book that she just HAD to get .... "Just So Stories" by Rudyard Kipling.

It was just a super perfect day, and it's not even over yet.

Just so Stories has become one of my favorites! I keep reading ahead to get to the next story...LOL! We just did Camel together today.

I had a golden day too. They are the B-E-S-T!

I love days like that! Makes me feel like supermom and June Cleaver all wrapped up in Lucky Jeans and a fitted tee!

When the kids play well together and truly act like friends -- those are awesome moments. Sounds like a lovely day.
