Wii wish you a Merry Christmas

Wii were soooo smart. Wii had been saving and Wii bought this Christmas gift months ago ... back when our little town still had two or three sitting around on the shelves.

Wii (my husband and I) had great self-control and did not play with it at all until last night when Wii were being Santa.

Wii are very sore and sleepy.

Wii just found out Wii wanted a Wii 2 weeks ago at which point they were unavailable. Wii did however discover how much excercise one video game could provide when Wii borrowed a Wii. Okay that is enough of that. Anyway my brother is providing funds and we hope we will have one by the end of January. Great stuff and much more fun than a treadmill.

Outside of PC games, we have never bought a game system for our kids. I'm terribly anal about spending that kind of money, and researched like a crazy person.

I chose the Wii because of the whole activity level of the silly thing. Needless to say, I have not been disappointed. It's a butt whoopin'.

Girl, I saved and saved and started looking last summer; finally found one in a tiny town south of here. Wii've had it ever since, just playing the stock games...

...but today...

...wii got GUITAR HERO. And let me tell you, it ROCKS!!!!

It's completely inappropriate for your kids - they're too young. My youngest - at 8 - is too young for the songs and the skanky rockstar girls, but holy cow is it FUN!!! I've been fighting my 12 year old for time...and my ex came over and we battled each other...

..darn good fun.

Merry Christmas to YOU!

Well, while we don't OWN Guitar Hero, I do let my kids play it ... maybe because deep down I'm a skanky rockstar girl (minus the rockin' boobs! ha!). You are soooo right - it is THE BEST GAME!

I'm sure we'll snag a used one down the road somewhere. Granted, in my house I encourage playing ACTUAL guitars, so maybe there will eventually be no need for it. We can just jam together.

I need some liniment. My shoulder is KILLING me from all this tennis! ha!

I know the feeling...

We do real guitars, too. My 17-year old got a sweet Fender electric for her birthday last week, with a very cool amp. She already does the folksinger/songwriter thing on her acoustic. Now we're all amped up; last night, when I was in the driveway, I could hear the REAL guitar upstairs...and guitar HERO downstairs...and I thought, "Who are these wonderful musical people???"

What about the guitar you were waiting to unwrap?

Wii are SO JEALOUS!! Wii looked everywhere for a one, but finally gave up and decided to forgo it until probably next Christmas. BTW - LOVE the funky PJ's!!

I can't believe you spent that kind of money...Ms. Frugal! I wanted to get one for my family, but just couldn't bring myself to part with that much money!

Cammie,

Oh, ye of little faith. Have no fear - I am still Ms. Frugal (you see, we have a budget for Christmas - we put back money every single month, and our budget comes from that - this year, the Wii came from Santa for all of us - meaning, everyone only got a little something else ... emphasis on LITTLE - but we stayed right in budget! Each child only got $3 worth of something in their stocking - Michael and I didn't do stockings this year - it was a give and take kind of year, and the Wii did all the taking!).

GEveryDay,

My guitar is super fun. It's a Squier (the lowest end of Fender - and I bought a whole starter pack to save on it). I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it more than acoustic, but it does give me more options. I actually paid for most of it myself ... have been putting back my mad money for eons, and added it in with what was budgeted for Christmas ... okay, actually, I will be adding in my next TWO months of mad money as well (how sweet is my husband to not make me wait to open it until February?!?) ... but when you consider I play guitar in some way every single week, it's worth all my patience and scrimping!

Heeeeeee...

Wii got one too, back in October.

Wii however had to box ours up and ship it back-there was a glitch and wii kept getting a disk error and a grinding noise.

Wii are sad. :(

Wii hope it comes home soon.
