Ah, poor hemp. So misunderstood. So disregarded.
Here is a fun idea for an area of study this week: HEMP!
How many things can you make out of industrial hemp?
How is industrial hemp related to sustainability? What the heck IS sustainability?
Could your kid (you *cough*) break off the leg of a hemp table, grind it up, smoke it and get high?
And then, as if you haven't learned enough, you can write a letter to your State Representative, and ask them to co-sponsor and support the current version of the first-ever federal hemp farming bill, H.R. 1009, the "Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2007."
America is missing the hemp boat.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

You are too funny.
If Hemp was good enough for Thomas Jefferson, it's good enough for me!! =) Just think our nation's greatest document - The Declaration of Independence - was drafted on hemp paper. How cool!!
Written and sent in! Thanks for the info, I didn't know they were looking at a hemp bill! How exciting!
Oh, hemp bill???? Interesting! I've added it to my list of things to learn about!
Have you read "Ain't Nobody's Business if You Do" yet? He talks about why marijuana became illegal--it's related to the paper industry of all things! Oh, and don't forget that you can make really cool jewelry from hemp, too. I wrote a post a while back with pics of what my daughter and I made here.
