Dear Tourettes, You suck. Love, Christine.

Mac had her first panic attack today.

Of course, it couldn't happen in the safety and comfort of our home. Nope. Had to happen as we were all eating lunch downtown.

Has made for interesting conversation, though ...

"Ya' know, Mom, when my Tourettes stuff has been really bad before, I usually just WISH I could die. But today, I thought I was GOING to die. Weird, huh?"

"Yeah. I'm glad you didn't. I'm kind of fond of you."

"Mom, you're weird."

"I know you are, but what am I?"

On a funny (but WAY not ha-ha!) note, Mac and I have noticed that her hormonal waves are already completely in sync with mine. When Aunt Flo finally moves into her crib to stay ... well, god help us all.

We'll do a refresher on relaxation techniques over the weekend. Right now I'm going to go take a long bath while watching something on Netflix.

I don't know about anything about tourettes but it sounds miserable. We had your kind of RAD day however. Ick. I worked out this morning and then went to high impact Guts and Butts class tonight at the Y. I won't be able to walk tomorrow but it took care of some stress.

I would like to punch Tourette's right in the gut for your kiddo. RAD is kicking my @$$ lately. Man, life is hard.

Right there with you, gal. We have to conquer the Tourette monsters with lots of humor around here. It is the only thing it is afraid of! Oh, and one of those full length massage pads that you can lay out on a couch or bed does wonders when the muscle tics get to be more than they can handle. Just a tip from your local TS Mama.
(((hugs))) to Mac and all the others in your beautiful brood.

Some days with TS just bite, don't they? Ugh! We noticed something really interesting w/our son when he was having an excruciating summer with tics. Our dog walked up to him during a bad bout and my son put his hand on the dog...the tics, stopped. It was a the weirdest thing. It doesn't always work, but the dog now goes to my son often when he's having bad tics and will either nuzzle him or even lay across his legs. (He's a big chocolate lab.)
