No Mirrors

My kids all work on some sort of memorization on a fairly regular basis. Right now my boys are learning Longfellow's "Paul Revere's Ride," and the older girls are working on Patrick Henry's speech and a portion of Hiawatha, respectively. I'm in heaven. I've never enjoyed American history so much in my LIFE!

Yet, that's not why I'm writing today (big surprise, I know - ME - digressing!). What I'm really, REALLY excited about is the piece that my youngest is memorizing - "No Mirrors in My Nana's House" by Ysaye M. Barnwell.

I can't even begin to explain the impact of this book. The words are so real and so beautiful and ... OH HOLY HOOCH! I love this book. I love that my daughter is memorizing this book.

If you have not yet discovered BookPALS Storyline, then get your hiney over there. Make sure the very first book you listen to is "No Mirrors in My Nana's House."

And thank me later.
