Magical Milk Pic-o-the-Week

Photo from Cate. "This is my daughter who came home through adoption as a preschooler. She wasn't breastfed ... We talk pretty openly about bodies and babies around here. I love that she doesn't run for a toy bottle when her baby's hungry."

That is so sweet. Wow. That touches my heart deeply for some reason. It's good when our daughters understand why their bodies were made so special.

We have a pic of my son feeding his baby like that when he was about 2-1/2. He'd been very observant of his little brother

Wonderful! My daughters both breastfeed their dolls, and I am so happy that it is in their heads as something perfectly normal. Long may it remain that way!

So sad, then, to realise that some people would consider it sickening and my children to be freaks, as per this article: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1116178_breastfeeding_tot_storm
It was brought to my attention through a friend's blog post: http://noblesavage.me.uk/2009/05/23/depravity-with-dolls/

I am so sad to realise that there is this kind of ignorance out there yet to be overcome. *sigh*
