Summer does not like Christians

I could not have found a more appropriate post to link to on a Sunday.

My favorite Summer in the whole wide world does not like Christians.

Read it. Chew on it. Digest it.

If you heave, then lick it back up off the ground and wash it down with a glass of reality.

sounds a lot like the sermon we heard this morning, but it was coming from a Christian :)

Nothing like throwing the baby (Jesus) out with the bathwater. Praying that all of the Summers out there will be changed by their experiences with the "exceptions" and not marred by the "rules" they encounter.

Truth will always be truth, no matter how many hypocrites there are who call themselves Christians.

I appreciate you linking to Summer's words, Christine, because they are helping me to search inside and become more of an authentic deep-down Christian instead of just a self-labelled one.

Thanks Summer for the jab. It was needed.

Well hopefully Summer gets to meet a few real Christians. It is easy to criticize however...Christians are imperfect people trying to follow a perfect example.

You know you're one of my favorite exceptions, right. :)

We can be such a judgmental obnoxious bunch. No doubt about it. What a shame. I keep striving to be more like him though. I'm a piece of work...in progress.

If you want to avoid hypocrites, you're going to have to avoid more than just church. You'll also have to avoid Wal-Mart, the movie theater, the gas station, and restaurants. We're everywhere. "Christian" does not mean perfect - not even close. We're all human and we're all sinners. Chritians, however, choose to join in the struggle to follow God's commands and be more like Him. Back to my RAD child now!

It is exactly the attitudes she describes - perfectly - that are why it took me so, so, so, so long to become a Christian. And it's exactly why I don't have many Christian friends, still.

Why are the people who are loving and kind the people who reject Christianity? What does that say about those who believe in Christ?

She's right. Most of my friends in Austin agree with her. I'm sick of them myself.

And I've been a Christian all my life. My husband just resigned from being on staff at a church, we're so sick of it all.

We're going to hit the streets and find some real people to spend Sundays with.

Those who reject Christ do not reject Him for any other reason than the fact that they choose to reject Him....the Way...the Truth...the Life.

To think we have much to do w/that reveals our pride.

With that said, we are a bunch of ridiculous a-holes much of the time.

Oh, Lord...please blind their eyes to our utter and persistent disobedient a-holeness and draw them to Yourself.
