It has been a year. ONE YEAR.
We packed up our lives and bought an RV park.
If you didn't know me then, feel free to go back and read the journey.
August 1, 2009.
I am so glad we did it. We are not special or super human. We are just people. We knew we were supposed to do something radical despite the fact that we were both smooching 40 and this business was making ZERO dollars.
The park is now holding at about 70% full and paying for itself. Michael was just offered a full-time job teaching, which he loves and at which he is amazing. This all has allowed us to finish up converting our old office space into a camping cabin completing another dream of ours: offering it to families with trauma/special needs who may not be able to pay but really, really need to get away (more on this later, but ISN'T THAT EXCITING!?!?).
We took a risk. A terrifying and lovely risk.
We stepped out.
We let many of you, friends and strangers, carry us and help us.
We struggled.
We laughed hysterically.
We hurt.
We celebrated.
And we are so very, very happy.
Raise those glasses - to Hill Shade RV Park!

Congrats!!! I feel like that is kind of a silly think to say... but really, I guess there really isn't anything better to say to people who dived off the edge of of a cliff believing that there was a ledge they couldn't see.
