I dare you to have fun today

This is for all of us. Of course, it has significant value to those of us parenting hurting and struggling kids. But I'll bet it also might change the face of your cubicle, your office, your living room, your drive to work, your grocery store check out that has 400 people waiting and only two lines open.

It doesn't have to be grandiose.

I double dog dare you to have fun today. If even for five minutes. YOU do it. Don't wait on someone else.

"Fun can obviously change behavior for the better."

More poignant than most would think.

We have a little thing at our house we call a "Joy Break". When the air gets a little too tense for whatever reason, we drop everything and crank up the tunes (usally some TobyMac) and jam until everyone is willing to join in the silliness. It lifts the attitude and clears out the funk.

Great video! I have seen this video about 1000 other places and haven't watched it until "you" said watch it. Obviously I'm still about 18 steps behind but I get there eventually. I'm a sloooooowwww learner.

Therapeutic panties back on so I will find fun today....even if it kills me. :)

In my preadoption days, if you had told me I would come to a point in my life where my biggest challenge was figuring out how to have fun with my child- I would have laughed at you! It sounds so easy! And yet, it is so. freaking. hard! to have fun with a child who is so determined to be miserable.

Thank you for the reminder. I wonder how much it would cost to have those stairs installed in my house....

I would totally be so distracted, I'd fall down those stairs. But at least it would be FUN!

I tried to convince the Tongginator to make a snowman with me today. Because it would be FUN. She told me "that's YOUR idea of fun, Momma. Not mine."

We played Go, Fish instead. And I had FUN, darn it. Really.

Aaaah! I posted about these same stairs yesterday. I promise I posted it before I saw your video and would not copy from you. Wait, I do want to be like you, but I'll attribute it all the way, I promise! Just wanted you to know that yes, I know this happened, and NO, it certainly wasn't on purpose. I like to think this all started from one person, and we are 6 degrees of facebook separated. Thanks for being an inspiration.
